The Contemporary Art Museum Saint Louis hosts a lot of programming for modern and contemporary art like artist discussions, film series, open forums, and art galas. It is a free resource for those in the Saint Louis area.
The Saint Louis Art Museum, also known as SLAM, is another great, free resource for art in the area. They boast major traveling exhibits semi-annually and coordinate hands-on activities like SLAM Underground. Check out their website to find more on their calendar or in their collection
An arts building/organization showcasing rotating exhibits from contemporary to pre-historic work that is shown with an emphasis on a direct experience with artwork.
Is an outdoor sculpture park hosting large-scale installations in nature. The Laumeier group also hosts artists in residency, summer camps, educational programs, an indoor gallery and more. The most iconic piece associated with Laumeier is "The Way" by Alexander Lieberman.
"The mission of the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis is to promote, encourage, and foster art and culture in St. Louis City and County. RAC hosts and funds a number of artists and organizations within the community.
The Center of Creative Arts is a huge multi-disciplinary arts community center. They have events, programs and classes for visual arts, music, theatre and more.
This space in St. Charles is a gallery and studio space, permanently housing local artist studios. This area also doubles as an event space and education center.
The Sheldon is a concert hall and art gallery in which many of the displays focus on the intermingling of visual and audio art. They also collaborate with a lot of community organizations to provide educational programs.
A non-profit art center offering contemporary craft exhibits, classes, free community programs and a gallery shop featuring regional and national artists. Their annual teapot exhibit is bar none.

Art Museum hosted on the campus of Washington University, this museum has a rotating set of artworks, including a fantastic collection of pop art works. The group is also in charge of public works installed around campus.
The crossroads arts council is a new group located in Wentzville for visual, musical and performing artists. Belonging to and participating in this group can give emerging artists a venue for their work.
The Raintree Arts Council is based in Lincoln County Missouri and offers courses as well as festivals and activities for local artists.
Art 21 is a digital resource for contemporary artists including, interviews, videos and articles about those individuals. This is a great place to visit for inspiration on independent projects.
