Use the "details/observations" section of the Coggle you created to make at least 3 observations about your chosen topic. For example:
Part of being an observant artist is being detailed in the descriptions of events, items or people that an one sees. Find an object in the room; the first thing you see. Write down every possible detail you can about that one object. Focus on shapes, colors, textures, shadows and smaller elements.
You will be given a letter with the goal of finding a letter somewhere around the school or your home. Once we've collected all 26 letters we can combine and spell out words! Share with [email protected] via Google docs with the title: DayHour - Letter - Last Name, First Initial P1 - O - Ziegler As your group travels with the phones/cameras... Keep in mind that you can rotate and crop the images. Try to fill the images with the letter shape. Remember to look up down and side to side; these shapes may be hidden in odd areas. And help each other out!
Artists observe and respond to the world around them. People watching is one great way to change your perspective. Imagining how a stranger might act makes it possible for you to think of more radical and imaginative ideas. As we watch the video for the 2nd time choose one person as inspiration for a story. Write a story from that person's perspective in your journal. Humans of New York began in the summer of 2010, when photographer Brandon Stanton set out to create a photographic census of New York City's inhabitants on his blog. The movement has since gained over 500,000 followers on Facebook and spread to other cities like St.Louis, LA and Chicago.
Sometimes we just need to have FUN drawing in our journals. Take a break and draw something in your journal. Have your shaded sphere out on the table next to you. We will conference on quality and possible alterations.
In your journal draw 9 oval or egg shapes along with circles for shadows. Follow the video (link below) by Alphonso Dunn to create the illusion of form using a variety of techniques we discussed previously in class.
Think of the filling as your positive space and the cookie itself as the negative space. You could pair with a partner or group to create a whole image too! Take a photo of your completed masterpiece and link to @tbhs_artz #deletethiscookie To create this image you are using the "subtractive" process. This means you are taking media or material away to create the final image. Petra, one of the 7 wonders of the world was created this way
