Review lettering styles using DaFont as well as image searches for "illustrated quotes" on a practice paper BEFORE you to begin to drawing inside of your silhouette.
Try writing the sentence below UPSIDE DOWN and/or BACKWARDS. Focus on the shapes of the letters and not "writing" as we traditionally think. "The dog chased after his tail until the sun rose in the west."
How would you describe your life in exactly six words? Larry Smith, founder of SMITH Magazine started the six-word challenge. Everyone has a story! Using only 6 words challenges you to boil down what is important or essential to you. Over 400,000 memoirs are now shared on his website including:
When writing your 6 word memoir remember to be specific, be honest, write like you talk, experiment with structure, tell a story and be yourself.
After you've written 3 possible memoirs choose the one that fits you best and introduce yourself to at least 5 different people in the room. Draw a 3-5 block cartoon depicting something that has happened today. Use a simple template format similar to the Sunday funnies.
Use your printed school photo and newfound knowledge of zentangles or types of line to create a "bad hair day" photo! Try to fill the entire page with lines, patterns and designs.
